Explosion, Gunfire In Yobe

Multiple explosions and gunfire were reportedly heard on Wednesday evening at Tashen Shanu area of Potiskum, Yobe State.
Eyewitnesses said the attack started at about 5.45 pm and did not cease until about 6.30 pm.
The attacker is believed to be a reprisal by the group, which member recently died from machete cuts from some cattle traders.
Earlier on Wednesday, some gunmen had attacked the market, snatching a dealer’s money and one cow. But luck ran out of them as they were apprehended by the cattle traders. One of the robbers was beheaded and burnt to ashes immediately while another remained in the traders’ custody.
Later that evening, the market fell under heavy gun attack minutes after explosion rocked a part of it.
The number of casualties are yet to be confirmed but witnesses said six people were killed.
