Explosion on Lekki-Epe Express way


During the early hours of today (around 5am to be precise), an explosion occurred at the Lekki-Epe Expressway along the Shango-Tedo area. According to eye-witness It appeared that the truck was carrying some chemical materials which were flammable in some drum barrels, and had a bad tire.

Some motorist tried notifying the driver about his burning tire but he kept on driving. And after driving for a few kilometers, the burning tire heated the container which resulted to the explosion seen above. The explosion affected many laid out commodities which is mostly found displayed on our road sides like cements, water tanks, displayed paints and a commuter hatch-back car driving in front of the trailer. The driver of the truck escaped with some injuries and is currently undergoing treatment in Safeway hospital, Shango-Tedo area but sadly, the truck conductor got burnt to death according to an eye-witness who says he lives around the area of the explosion.






And surprisingly regardless of how Nigerians have seen them, The Fire Brigade Squad responded at about 35minutes from when the explosion started and were able to put the fire out in about 25minutes from when the came
