Death-toll hit at 82 in the bloodiest single day in Iraqi this year

Police in Iraqi say gunmen have killed 13 soldiers in an army base at the country's northeast, bringing the death toll to 82 in a single day making this day (june 23rd) the bloodiest day so far this year.

Two senior police officials said the gunmen arrived at dawn Monday at the military base in the town of Udaim in three vehicles and began shooting at soldiers. No other people were injured.

The attack was one in a wave of violence across the country that left 82 dead.

This marks the single deadliest day in the history of Iraqi since the U.S government left last year December which comes days after the leader of A-Qaeda in Iraq warned that the militant group is regrouping.
