What We Know About Apple's iPhone 6 and 6 Plus So Far... (UPDATED)

IPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus

Apple announced its latest phones, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus on the 9th of September. Both phones with larger screens than all of their predecessors and a different body design than what we saw on the iPhone 5 and 5s.

A blogg’s life will be doing a full hands on review as soon as we get our hands on either the iPhone 6 or the iPhone 6 plus. Shortly after that (Good news!) we will be giving out the review model to a lucky blog user. Note that you have to reside in Nigeria (or have a Nigerian address it can be delivered to) to receive the phone. Just comment on this post (make sure its not an anonymous comment so we know who you are) or like it or follow us on twitter (@ abloggslife) and retweet this post to qualify. The winner will be chosen at random, of course.

Now back to the iPhones. They’re big!!! 4.7 and 5.5 inch screens. While I’ve never been a fan of iOS, I’ve always loved the design of Apple’s phones (besides the 4’s that is… Phone made of glass? smh) but the 5 and 5s, they just fit into your palm and into your pocket and were so easy to use with a single hand. I’m sure apple considered all of these before settling for the screen sizes anyway. On the upside, the iPhone 6 has 1334 by 750 resolution with 326 ppi, while the iPhone 6 plus has 1920 by 1080 with 401 ppi so basically, bigger, clearer screens. The screens also have dual-domain pixels, meaning wider viewing angles (good news for all the creeps who side-eye-read other people’s messages in public)

They both have the A8 processor which promises 25% faster processing, 50% faster graphics and better power efficiency. They also both have the M8 coprocessor which is responsible for handling all the data coming in from the motion sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope and compass). There’s also a barometer, which the phone can use to figure out your altitude.

Unfortunately, Apple has decided to stick with an 8 MP camera for both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus. They however added some new hardware to the camera to improve its performance compared to the 5s. These include a new and better sensor and focus pixels (found on DSLR cameras), meaning your camera should capture better pictures in poor light conditions and also focus a lot faster than it used to. The new iPhones have improved secondary cameras, Apple says 80% more light comes in, so that’s better and clearer selfies.

Coming with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus is the all new iOs 8 with an improved messages app and a predictive keyboard which can learn how you type and give you useful suggestions (Android users should be pretty familiar with this feature ;) lol) There’s a nice health app and interactive notifications to help all the light skinned females attend to their messages as they pop up.

The iPhone 6 and 6 plus should hit US, Canadian and UK markets by September 19, While iOS 8 is available for download by September 17 (Good news for iPhone 4s, 5, 5c, and 5s users)

There’s also Apple Pay, which allows you use your phone to carry out transactions. I don’t see that working in Nigeria anytime soon so... Unlooking (besides if hackers can get into iCloud and leak nudes, :D, I wouldn’t want to have any of my financial info on there).

That’s about it for now, including all the features the older iPhone models have. Touch ID, Siri, Air drop, iCloud… All those. Don’t forget to subscribe or follow us and leave a comment! Remember, there's an iPhone on the line.
